WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE QUARTZ INSTEAD OF GRANITE FOR MY KITCHEN WORKTOP ?

Granite can incorporate natural flaws, venting ,pot marks, veining, irregularities and can never be guaranteed to remain consistent throughout the whole installations.  Quarz slabs are manufactured so are more consistent and avoid these natural imperfections.

CAN I COME AND CHOOSE THE GRANITE ?

We do advise customers they can view their Granite or Quartz before it is fabricated. This is especially the case with certain Granites due to their natural variation in colour and pattern.
It is advisable to call and make an appointment before visiting so we can arrange for the viewing. The offices are open Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8am-4.30pm.

WHAT IS THE THICKNESS OF GRANITE AND QUARTZ WORKTOPS.

Most Granite and Quartz work surfaces are available in 20mm and 30mm in thickness. We can make up to 40mm by putting a 20mm down stand on a 20mm worktop.  Most worktops are manufactured in 30mm and the 20mm is usually used for upstands and back splashes.  We are now able to fabricated Quartz in 12mm.

DO YOU SEND SAMPLES OR CAN I TAKE THEM AWAY ?

Both, we can send them to you or you can take them away if you visit us and all free of charge.

WHEN YOU GIVE ME A QUOTE DO I PAY FOR WASTE MATERIAL ?

When we quote you, from your plan or drawing you only pay for the material used .  This keeps costs to a minimum, you are not charged for wastage or offcuts.

HOW LONG BETWEEN TEMPLATING AND FITTING THE WORKTOPS ?

This is normally a seven day turn aound, or five working days i.e if we template on a Monday we will return the following Monday to fit.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE YOU COME TO TEMPLATE ?

All sinks and hobs need to be on site.  If you are having an undermounted sink this should come with a manufacturers template.  This should be available and given to our templater.  All base units need to be fitted and fixed in their final position.  They should be fixed to each other where applicable as well as to the wall.  The units need to be level.  Any plastering should be done before templating.  It should definitely not be done in-between templating and the installation of your work top.
Tiling should be done after your worktops have been fitted.

DO I NEED TO BE PRESENT WHEN YOU COME AND TEMPALTE AND FIT ?

We always advise customers to be present at both .  This just helps that your work tops are manufactured and installed to your exact requirements.

DO I NEED TO SEAL MY GRANITE WORKTOPS ?

Granite Worktops are sealed prior to despatch and upon installation . Care of your worktops and maintenance instructions are left with you once installation is complete.  These guidlines have been developed with you inmind to ensure that you get maximum enjoyment from your worktop whether it is Granite or Quartz.
